FAVORITE NOOKS IN FLORENCE

Chiesa di Santa Felìcita - Just at the end of Ponte Vecchio, you will find one of my favorite frescoes in the first chapel on the right, in Brunelleschi’s small Cappella Barbadori, by Jacopo Pontormo (1494–1557) of the Annunciation and a Deposition from the Cross. His use of garish color palette of oranges, pinks, golds, lime greens, and sky blues, exhibit his trademark surreal sense of figure .

Basilica di San Miniato - On one of Florences’ highest points in the city sits a basilica, built between the 11th and 13th century. It has been described as one of the finest Romanesque structures in Tuscany and one of the most scenic churches in Italy. Definitely worth the time fore the view.

Vivoli - Suggested by a few locals as the best gelato in Florence. We have not tried it yet but it comes highly recommended.

Gelateria Dondoli - This is not in ***Florence***. However! It is considered by many to be the best Gelato in the world and has the trophies and titles to back that up. This is in San Gimignano which is a little out of the way between Florence and Siena but a beautiful place and worth the visit, especially for the gelato. If you google it you’ll see the length of the drive and the beauty if the city.
